Bucheon Art Center

The Bucheon Arts Center, inaugurated by the city of Bucheon in May 2023, stands as a premier classical music venue boasting exceptional acoustics and a diverse array of content, ranging from authentic classical music to theater and performances. Studio FNT undertook the craft of identity design for this newly established cultural hub.

With a vision to convey a contemporary, dynamic, and inviting ambiance to the residents of Bucheon, diverging from the conventional noble image associated with classical music, we sought an identity that would resonate easily with audiences and adapt seamlessly across various online and offline platforms. The objective was to create a succinct institutional name and a meaningful, memorable symbol embodying the essence of “music and performance.”
Our design approach centered on the core content of the Bucheon Arts Center—classical music—and its guiding motto, “Impressions drawn on staves.” By replacing the English initials 'BAC' with musical notes arranged systematically on the stave, we crafted a symbol that encapsulates the resonance of classical music in our contemporary era. The rhythmic arrangement of the wordmark mirrors the notes on the stave, while the line crosses the Latin alphabet 'BAC' expands and repeats to form a pattern reminiscent of a stave, symbolizing the harmony of keys, notes, and rhythm. Moreover, we incorporated the symbolic colors of Bucheon City into the color scheme for the Bucheon Arts Center, further anchoring it within its local context.
