Space K

Founded in 2011, Space K is a shared space for culture and arts operated by Kolon Corporation. In 2020, a new space was built in the Magok district in Seoul and opened under the name 'Space K Seoul'. Accordingly, a new museum identity was needed, and studio fnt took charge of this creative project.
A little different from the usual process in which the identity design is delivered in parallel with the design of the physical space, in this case, the museum identity project was requested after the museum building was designed. We wanted the experience that the viewers feel in the physical museum space to also derive from the graphic identity, organically.
The museum ceilings are angled, and so each area within it has different heights. This unique characteristic of the space was reflected in the logo and used as a graphic device in applications. This shape of the logo is flexible and expands in various ways as a symbolic purpose to reveal the identity of the museum, and at times serves as a functional device to carry different contents.
